Mountain- and Cattledogs), FCI-Standard
No. 145 Presently 331 different breeds are recognized by the FCI. FCI-History: The FCI was founded May 22, 1911 to assist and shelter the Cynology and all matter conc. pure-dogs-breeding. The founder-countries have been: Austria-Belgium-France-Germany-Netherlands. Re-Foundation after the First World War in 1921 by the Sociéte Centrale Canine de France and the Société Royale Saint-Hubert (Belgium). |

The FCI doesn't, as often assumed, run an own registry and as well doesn't give any pedigrees or doesn't run either a list of breeder-addresses. Those duties are shifted to the Main-Cynological-Associtation of each member- and/or partner-country |
